Michelle Lewis is copy chief of Syria Deeply, a casual sub editor at the Guardian and a consultant for the National Council for the Training of Journalists. While she was associate editor at TIME magazine, she wrote for and commissioned travel features for TIME Global Adviser, and wrote regular hotel features for Archant’s lifestyle magazines and website. She is also a former PR director who specialised in luxury and boutique hotels. When she lived in Barbados, she used to sneak into five-star hotels and pretend to be a guest. She used to do it in Florida too, where she grew up. She lives in Saffron Walden, Essex, now, and has dual US/UK citizenship, having lived in the UK for 17 years.
She loves travel, yoga, peanut butter, sleeping and experimenting with smoothie recipes. She is trying very hard to like running, but it’s more fun to sleep. She loves great hotels most of all.
